حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَکْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ وَعَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا وَکِيعٌ عَنْ أَبِي هِلَالٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سَوَادَةَ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِکٍ رَجُلٌ مِنْ بَنِي عَبْدِ الْأَشْهَلِ قَالَ أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ يَتَغَدَّی فَقَالَ ادْنُ فَکُلْ فَقُلْتُ إِنِّي صَائِمٌ فَيَا لَهْفَ نَفْسِي هَلَّا کُنْتُ طَعِمْتُ مِنْ طَعَامِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ
ابن ماجہ · Hadith 3299
It was narrated that Anas bin Malik – a man from the tribe of Banu 'Abdul-Ashhal said: "I came to the Prophet when he was eating breakfast and he said: 'Come and eat.’ I said: 'I am fasting. Alas! Would that I had eaten of the food of the Messenger of Allah."
