ابن ماجہ · Hadith 3199

It was narrated that Abu Sa’eed said: "We asked the Messenger of Allah about the fetus. He said: 'Eat it if you wish, for it is considered legally slaughtered with the slaughtering of its mother.''' Abu Abdullah said: I heard Al- Kawsaj Ishaq bin Mansur saying, concerning their saying: 'No Modhimmah (claim/blame) is determined by the slaughter (of the mother). He (Kawsaj) said: 'Madhimmah spelled with Kasr (i) is from Dhimam, meaning a claim (right); while Madhammah spelled with Fath (a) is from Dhamm, meaning blame.'''
