حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ سُکَيْنٍ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْمُثَنَّی ح و حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الصَّبَّاحِ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ بْنُ عَطَائٍ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَعِيلُ الْمَکِيُّ عَنْ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُغَفَّلٍ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ مَنْ حَفَرَ بِئْرًا فَلَهُ أَرْبَعُونَ ذِرَاعًا عَطَنًا لِمَاشِيَتِهِ

It was narrated from 'Abdullah bin Mughaffal that the Prophet said: "Whoever digs a well, is entitled to forty forearms' length surrounding it as a resting place for his flocks."
