حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَکْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ نُمَيْرٍ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ حَسَّانَ عَنْ حَفْصَةَ عَنْ أُمِّ عَطِيَّةَ قَالَتْ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا تُحِدُّ عَلَی مَيِّتٍ فَوْقَ ثَلَاثٍ إِلَّا امْرَأَةٌ تُحِدُّ عَلَی زَوْجِهَا أَرْبَعَةَ أَشْهُرٍ وَعَشْرًا وَلَا تَلْبَسُ ثَوْبًا مَصْبُوغًا إِلَّا ثَوْبَ عَصْبٍ وَلَا تَکْتَحِلُ وَلَا تَطَيَّبُ إِلَّا عِنْدَ أَدْنَی طُهْرِهَا بِنُبْذَةٍ مِنْ قُسْطٍ أَوْ أَظْفَارٍ
ابن ماجہ · Hadith 2087
It was narrated from Hafsah the wife of the Prophet that the Messenger of Allah said: “It is not permissible for a woman who believes in Allah and the Last Day to mourn for any eceased person for more than three days, except for her husband.”(Sahih)
