حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَلَمَةَ يَحْيَی بْنُ الْمُغِيرَةِ الْمَخْزُومِيُّ الْمَدِينِيُّ وَغَيْرُ وَاحِدٍ قَالُوا حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي فُدَيْکٍ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ الْفَضْلِ عَنْ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ کَانَ إِذَا أَهَمَّهُ الْأَمْرُ رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ إِلَی السَّمَائِ فَقَالَ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ الْعَظِيمِ وَإِذَا اجْتَهَدَ فِي الدُّعَائِ قَالَ يَا حَيُّ يَا قَيُّومُ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَی هَذَا حَدِيثٌ غَرِيبٌ
جامع ترمذی · Hadith 3436
Abu Hurairah narrated that: When a matter would worry the Prophet (ﷺ), he would raise his head up toward the sky and say: “Glory is to Allah, the Magnificent (Subḥān Allāhil-`Aẓīm).” And when he would strive in supplication; he would say: “O the Living, O Sustainer (Yā Ḥayyu yā Qayyūm).”
