حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ عَنْ الْمُسْتَمِرِّ بْنِ الرَّيَّانِ عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ قَالَ قَرَأَ أَبُو سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيُّ وَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّ فِيکُمْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ لَوْ يُطِيعُکُمْ فِي کَثِيرٍ مِنْ الْأَمْرِ لَعَنِتُّمْ قَالَ هَذَا نَبِيُّکُمْ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُوحَی إِلَيْهِ وَخِيَارُ أَئِمَّتِکُمْ لَوْ أَطَاعَهُمْ فِي کَثِيرٍ مِنْ الْأَمْرِ لَعَنِتُوا فَکَيْفَ بِکُمْ الْيَوْمَ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَی هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ غَرِيبٌ قَالَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمَدِينِيِّ سَأَلْتُ يَحْيَی بْنَ سَعِيدٍ الْقَطَّانَ عَنْ الْمُسْتَمِرِّ بْنِ الرَّيَّانِ فَقَالَ ثِقَةٌ
جامع ترمذی · Hadith 3269
Narrated Abu Nadrah: Abu Sa'eed Al-Khudri recited: And know that among you there is the Messenger of Allah. If he were to obey you in much of the matter, you would surely be in trouble (49:7). He said: This is your Prophet (ﷺ) to whom the Revelation came, and the best of your leaders, if he had obeyed them in may of their matters, then he would have been in trouble. So how about you people today?
