حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ التَّيْمِيِّ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِکٍ أَنَّ رَجُلَيْنِ عَطَسَا عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَشَمَّتَ أَحَدَهُمَا وَلَمْ يُشَمِّتْ الْآخَرَ فَقَالَ الَّذِي لَمْ يُشَمِّتْهُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ شَمَّتَّ هَذَا وَلَمْ تُشَمِّتْنِي فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّهُ حَمِدَ اللَّهَ وَإِنَّکَ لَمْ تَحْمَدْ اللَّهَ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَی هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ وَقَدْ رُوِيَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ
جامع ترمذی · Hadith 2742
Narrated Anas bin Malik: that two men sneezed in the presence of the Prophet (ﷺ); he responded to one of them and did not respond to the other. The one who was not responded to said: O Messenger of Allah! You responded to this person and did not respond to me?' So the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: He praised Allah while you did not praise Him.
