حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ حَدَّثَنَا وَکِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ عَنْ سِمَاکٍ عَنْ عِکْرِمَةَ عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ کَانَتْ الْأَنْصَارُ بَعِيدَةً مَنَازِلُهُمْ مِنْ الْمَسْجِدِ فَأَرَادُوا أَنْ يَقْتَرِبُوا فَنَزَلَتْ وَنَکْتُبُ مَا قَدَّمُوا وَآثَارَهُمْ قَالَ فَثَبَتُوا
ابن ماجہ · Hadith 785
it was narrated that Ibn 'Abbas said: "The houses of the Ansar were far from the Masjid and they wanted to move closer. Then the following Verse was revealed: 'We record that which they send before (them), and their traees.He said: S0 they remained (where they were)." (Hasan)
