أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ وَالْحَارِثُ بْنُ مِسْکِينٍ قِرَائَةً عَلَيْهِ وَأَنَا أَسْمَعُ وَاللَّفْظُ لِمُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ ابْنِ الْقَاسِمِ عَنْ مَالِکٍ عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ الطَّوِيلِ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِکٍ أَنَّ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ عَوْفٍ جَائَ إِلَی النَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَبِهِ أَثَرُ الصُّفْرَةِ فَسَأَلَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ تَزَوَّجَ امْرَأَةً مِنْ الْأَنْصَارِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ کَمْ سُقْتَ إِلَيْهَا قَالَ زِنَةَ نَوَاةٍ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَوْلِمْ وَلَوْ بِشَاةٍ
سنن نسائی · Hadith 3359
It was narrated from Anas bin Malik that ‘Abdur-Rahman bin ‘Awl came to the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم with traces of yellow perfume on him. The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم asked him (about that) and he told him that he had married a woman from among the An The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم said: “How much did you give her?” He said: “A Nawah (five Dirhams) of gold.” The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم said: “Give a Walimah (wedding feast) even if it is with one sheep.”(Sahih).
