أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْخَلَنْجِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ مَوْلَی بَنِي هَاشِمٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حُصَيْنُ بْنُ نَافِعٍ الْمَازِنِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي الْحَسَنُ عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ هِشَامٍ أَنَّهُ دَخَلَ عَلَی أُمِّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ عَائِشَةَ قَالَ قُلْتُ إِنِّي أُرِيدُ أَنْ أَسْأَلَکِ عَنْ التَّبَتُّلِ فَمَا تَرَيْنَ فِيهِ قَالَتْ فَلَا تَفْعَلْ أَمَا سَمِعْتَ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ يَقُولُ وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا رُسُلًا مِنْ قَبْلِکَ وَجَعَلْنَا لَهُمْ أَزْوَاجًا وَذُرِّيَّةً فَلَا تَتَبَتَّلْ
سنن نسائی · Hadith 3224
It was narrated from Saad bin Hisham that he came to the Mother of the Believers, ‘Aishah. He said: “I want to ask you about celibacy, what do you think about it?” She said: “Do not do that; have you not heard that Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, says: ‘And indeed We sent Messengers before you, and made for them wives and offspring.? So do not be celibate.” (Sahih)
