أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَمَّارٍ الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ حُرَيْثٍ قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عَمْرٍو عَنْ عَطَائٍ عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ إِنَّمَا سَعَی النَّبِيُّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَيْنَ الصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةِ لِيُرِيَ الْمُشْرِکِينَ قُوَّتَهُ

It was narrated that Ibn ‘Abbas said: “The Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم walked rapidly between A and Al-Marwah to show the idolators that he was strong.” (Sahih)
