أَخْبَرَنَا هَنَّادُ بْنُ السَّرِيِّ عَنْ ابْنِ أَبِي زَائِدَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي سُلَيْمَانَ عَنْ عَطَائٍ قَالَ ابْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ سَمِعْتُ عَائِشَةَ تَقُولُ إِنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَوْلَا أَنَّ النَّاسَ حَدِيثٌ عَهْدُهُمْ بِکُفْرٍ وَلَيْسَ عِنْدِي مِنْ النَّفَقَةِ مَا يُقَوِّي عَلَی بِنَائِهِ لَکُنْتُ أَدْخَلْتُ فِيهِ مِنْ الْحِجْرِ خَمْسَةَ أَذْرُعٍ وَجَعَلْتُ لَهُ بَابًا يَدْخُلُ النَّاسُ مِنْهُ وَبَابًا يَخْرُجُونَ مِنْهُ
سنن نسائی · Hadith 2917
‘Aishah said: “The Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم said: ‘Were it not for the fact that the people have recently left disbelief, and that I do not have enough funds to enable me to build it, I would have incorporated five cubits of the Hijr in it, and given it a door through which the people could enter, and another door through which they could exit.” (Sahih)
