أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَعِيلُ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَی عَنْ خَالِدٍ عَنْ شُعْبَةَ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَقَ عَنْ الْأَسْوَدِ أَنَّ أُمَّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ قَالَتْ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَوْلَا أَنَّ قَوْمِي وَفِي حَدِيثِ مُحَمَّدٍ قَوْمَکِ حَدِيثُ عَهْدٍ بِجَاهِلِيَّةٍ لَهَدَمْتُ الْکَعْبَةَ وَجَعَلْتُ لَهَا بَابَيْنِ فَلَمَّا مَلَکَ ابْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ جَعَلَ لَهَا بَابَيْنِ
سنن نسائی · Hadith 2909
It was narrated from Al Aswad that the Mother of the Believers said: “The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم said: ‘Were it not for the fact that my people’ — according to the narration of Muhammad he said: ‘your people’ — ‘have recently left Jahiliyyah, I would have knocked down the House and given it two doors.” When Ibn Az Zubair was in power, he gave it two doors.
