أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ إِسْحَقَ قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سَعْدُ بْنُ أَوْسٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي بلَالُ بْنُ يَحْيَی أَنَّ شُتَيْرَ بْنَ شَکَلٍ أَخْبَرَهُ عَنْ أَبِيهِ شَکَلِ بْنِ حُمَيْدٍ قَالَ أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقُلْتُ يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ عَلِّمْنِي تَعَوُّذًا أَتَعَوَّذُ بِهِ فَأَخَذَ بِيَدِي ثُمَّ قَالَ قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِکَ مِنْ شَرِّ سَمْعِي وَشَرِّ بَصَرِي وَشَرِّ لِسَانِي وَشَرِّ قَلْبِي وَشَرِّ مَنِيِّي قَالَ حَتَّی حَفِظْتُهَا قَالَ سَعْدٌ وَالْمَنِيُّ مَاؤُهُ خَالَفَهُ وَکِيعٌ فِي لَفْظِهِ

It was narrated that Shakal bin Humaid said: “I came to the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم and said: ‘Prophet of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم, teach me words by which I may seek refuge (with Allah).’ He took me by the hand then said: ‘Say: A’uidhu bika mm shani sarn’i, wa sharri basa wa sharri iisani wa sharri qalbi wa sharri manI (I seek refuge in You from the evil of my ….ariflg, the evil of my seeing, the of my tongue, the evil of my t and the evil of my sperm),’ I had memorized it.” Waki’ contradicted him in the wordingS.
