أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بَزِيعٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ بْنُ أَبِي هِنْدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَزْرَةُ عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ ابْنِ هِشَامٍ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَتْ کَانَ لَنَا سِتْرٌ فِيهِ تِمْثَالُ طَيْرٍ مُسْتَقْبِلَ الْبَيْتِ إِذَا دَخَلَ الدَّاخِلُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَا عَائِشَةُ حَوِّلِيهِ فَإِنِّي کُلَّمَا دَخَلْتُ فَرَأَيْتُهُ ذَکَرْتُ الدُّنْيَا قَالَتْ وَکَانَ لَنَا قَطِيفَةٌ لَهَا عَلَمٌ فَکُنَّا نَلْبَسُهَا فَلَمْ نَقْطَعْهُ
سنن نسائی · Hadith 5368
It was narrated that ‘Aishah, the wife of the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم said: “We had a curtain on which there were images of birds, at the entrance to the house. The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم said: ‘‘Aishah, remove it, for every time I come in and see it, I remember this world.” She said: “We had a plush wrap, with a border on it, that we would wear, and it was not cut off.” (Sahih).
