أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو کُرَيْبٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَلَائِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَکْرِ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَقَ عَنْ أَبِي الْأَحْوَصِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ کُنْتُ جَالِسًا عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَرَآنِي رَثَّ الثِّيَابِ فَقَالَ أَلَکَ مَالٌ قُلْتُ نَعَمْ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مِنْ کُلِّ الْمَالِ قَالَ فَإِذَا آتَاکَ اللَّهُ مَالًا فَلْيُرَ أَثَرُهُ عَلَيْکَ
سنن نسائی · Hadith 5238
It was narrated from Abu Al-Ahwas that his father said: “I Was sitting with the Messenger of Allah and he saw that I was dressed in scruffy clothes. He said: ‘Do you have any wealth?’ I said: ‘Yes, Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم, all kinds of wealth.’ He said: ‘If Allah gives you wealth then let its effect be seen on you.” (Sahih)
