أَخْبَرَنَا يُوسُفُ بْنُ عِيسَی قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ مُوسَی قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ عَدِيٍّ عَنْ زِرٍّ قَالَ قَالَ عَلِيٌّ إِنَّهُ لَعَهْدُ النَّبِيِّ الْأُمِّيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَيَّ أَنَّهُ لَا يُحِبُّکَ إِلَّا مُؤْمِنٌ وَلَا يَبْغُضُکَ إِلَّا مُنَافِقٌ
سنن نسائی · Hadith 5033
It was narrated that Zirr said: ‘Ali said: “The Unlettered Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم made a covenant with me, that none but a believer would love me, and none but a hypocrite would hate me.” (Sahih)
