سنن نسائی · Hadith 4894
It was narrated from Safwan bin Umayyah that a man stole his Burdah, so he brought him before the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم , who ordered that his hand be cut off. He said: “Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم, I will let him have it.” He said: “Abu Wahb! Why didn’t you do that before you brought him to me?” And the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم had (the man’s) hand cut off. (Hasan)
