سنن نسائی · Hadith 2881
It was narrated that Ibn ‘Abbas said: “The Messenger of Allah said on the day of the Conquest: ‘Allah made this land sacred the day He created the Heavens and the Earth, so it is sacred by the Decree of Allah until the Day of Resurrection. Its thorny shrubs are not to be cut, or its game disturbed, or its lost property to be picked up, except by the one who will announce it publicly, or is its green grass to be uprooted or cut.’ Al-’Abbas said: ‘Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم! Except Idhkhir.” And he said something that meant: “Except Idhkhir.” (Sahih)
