أَخْبَرَنَا الرَّبِيعُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ صَاحِبُ الشَّافِعِيِّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَی بْنُ حَسَّانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا وُهَيْبٌ وَحَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ طَاوُسٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَقَّتَ لِأَهْلِ الْمَدِينَةِ ذَا الْحُلَيْفَةِ وَلِأَهْلِ الشَّامِ الْجُحْفَةَ وَلِأَهْلِ نَجْدٍ قَرْنًا وَلِأَهْلِ الْيَمَنِ يَلَمْلَمَ وَقَالَ هُنَّ لَهُنَّ وَلِکُلِّ آتٍ أَتَی عَلَيْهِنَّ مِنْ غَيْرِهِنَّ فَمَنْ کَانَ أَهْلُهُ دُونَ الْمِيقَاتِ حَيْثُ يُنْشِئُ حَتَّی يَأْتِيَ ذَلِکَ عَلَی أَهْلِ مَکَّةَ
سنن نسائی · Hadith 2660
It was narrated from Ibn ‘Abbas that the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم designated Dhul-Hulaifah as the MIqat for the people of Al Madinah, Al-Juhfah for the people of Ash-Sham, Qarn for the people of Najd, and Yalamlam for the people of Yemen. He said: “They are for them, and for anyone who comes to them from elsewhere. If a person’s place of residence is within the boundary of the MIqat, then (he should enter into Ihram) from where he starts his journey, and this also applies to the people of Makkah.” (Sahih)
