أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ وَالْحَارِثُ بْنُ مِسْکِينٍ قِرَائَةً عَلَيْهِ وَأَنَا أَسْمَعُ عَنْ ابْنِ الْقَاسِمِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي مَالِکٌ عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ يَسَارٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ کَانَ الْفَضْلُ بْنُ عَبَّاسٍ رَدِيفَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَجَائَتْهُ امْرَأَةٌ مِنْ خَثْعَمَ تَسْتَفْتِيهِ وَجَعَلَ الْفَضْلُ يَنْظُرُ إِلَيْهَا وَتَنْظُرُ إِلَيْهِ وَجَعَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَصْرِفُ وَجْهَ الْفَضْلِ إِلَی الشِّقِّ الْآخَرِ فَقَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ فَرِيضَةَ اللَّهِ فِي الْحَجِّ عَلَی عِبَادِهِ أَدْرَکَتْ أَبِي شَيْخًا کَبِيرًا لَا يَسْتَطِيعُ أَنْ يَثْبُتَ عَلَی الرَّاحِلَةِ أَفَأَحُجُّ عَنْهُ قَالَ نَعَمْ وَذَلِکَ فِي حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ
سنن نسائی · Hadith 2647
It was narrated from ‘Abdullah bin ‘Abbas: “Al-Fadi bin ‘Abbas was riding behind the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم :. when a woman from Khath’am came and asked him a question. Al-Fadi started looking at her and she at him, and the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم turned Al-Fadi’s face to the other side. She said: ‘Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم! The command of Allah has come for His slaves to perform Haj)’, but my father is an old man and cannot sit firmly in the saddle; should I perform Hajj on his behalf?’ He said: ‘Yes.’ That happened during the Farewell Pilgrimage.” (Sahih)
