أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ عَنْ مَالِکٍ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ وَهُوَ يَذْکُرُ الصَّدَقَةَ وَالتَّعَفُّفَ عَنْ الْمَسْأَلَةِ الْيَدُ الْعُلْيَا خَيْرٌ مِنْ الْيَدِ السُّفْلَی وَالْيَدُ الْعُلْيَا الْمُنْفِقَةُ وَالْيَدُ السُّفْلَی السَّائِلَةُ
سنن نسائی · Hadith 2539
It was narrated from ‘Abdullah bin ‘Umar that the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم : said, when mentioning charity and those who refrain from asking: “The upper hand is better than the lower hand; the upper hand is that which gives and the lower hand is that which asks.” (Sahih)
