أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَی بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ السَّکَنِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَهْضَمٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَعِيلُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ نَافِعٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ فَرَضَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ زَکَاةَ الْفِطْرِ صَاعًا مِنْ تَمْرٍ أَوْ صَاعًا مِنْ شَعِيرٍ عَلَی الْحُرِّ وَالْعَبْدِ وَالذَّکَرِ وَالْأُنْثَی وَالصَّغِيرِ وَالْکَبِيرِ مِنْ الْمُسْلِمِينَ وَأَمَرَ بِهَا أَنْ تُؤَدَّی قَبْلَ خُرُوجِ النَّاسِ إِلَی الصَّلَاةِ
سنن نسائی · Hadith 2510
It was narrated that Ibn ‘Umar said: “The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم enjoined Zakatul-Fitr; a Sa’ of dates or a aof barley, upon the free person and the slave, male and female, young and old, among the Muslims. He commanded that it be given before the people went out to the (‘Id) prayer.” (Sahih)
