أَخْبَرَنِي صَفْوَانُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ عَنْ سِمَاکِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي رَجُلٌ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ بِنْتِ طَلْحَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أُمِّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ قَالَتْ جَائَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمًا فَقَالَ هَلْ عِنْدَکُمْ مِنْ طَعَامٍ قُلْتُ لَا قَالَ إِذًا أَصُومُ قَالَتْ وَدَخَلَ عَلَيَّ مَرَّةً أُخْرَی فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَدْ أُهْدِيَ لَنَا حَيْسٌ فَقَالَ إِذًا أُفْطِرُ الْيَوْمَ وَقَدْ فَرَضْتُ الصَّوْمَ
سنن نسائی · Hadith 2336
It was narrated from ‘Aishah that the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم came to her and said: “Do you have any food?” We said: “No.” He said: “I am fasting.” Then he came on another day, and ‘Aishah said: “Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم, we have been given some Iais.” So he called for it, and said: “I started the day fasting,” then he ate.(Sahih)
