أَخْبَرَنِي هِلَالُ بْنُ الْعَلَائِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَقَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي مُجَاهِدٌ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَامَ فِي شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ وَأَفْطَرَ فِي السَّفَرِ

سنن نسائی · Hadith 2299

It was narrated that Ibn ‘Abbas said: “The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم traveled during Ramadan and fasted until he reached ‘Usfan. Then he called for a vessel and drank during the day when the people could see him, then he did not fast.” (Sahih)
