أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي لَبِيدٍ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ عَائِشَةَ فَقُلْتُ أَخْبِرِينِي عَنْ صِيَامِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَتْ کَانَ يَصُومُ حَتَّی نَقُولَ قَدْ صَامَ وَيُفْطِرُ حَتَّی نَقُولَ قَدْ أَفْطَرَ وَلَمْ يَکُنْ يَصُومُ شَهْرًا أَکْثَرَ مِنْ شَعْبَانَ کَانَ يَصُومُ شَعْبَانَ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا کَانَ يَصُومُ شَعْبَانَ کُلَّهُ
سنن نسائی · Hadith 2185
It was narrated from Abu Salamah bin ‘Abdur-Rahman that he asked ‘Aishah about the fasting of the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم ,She said: “The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم used to fast until we said: ‘He will not stop fasting,’ and he used not to fast until we said: ‘He will not fast.’ And he used to fast Sha’ban, or most of Sha’ban.” (Sahih)
