حَدَّثَنَا نَصْرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ وَجَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُسَافِرٍ أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ يَزِيدَ الْمُقْرِئَ أَخْبَرَهُمَا عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ عَنْ عِرَاکِ بْنِ مَالِکٍ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَلَّی الْعِشَائَ ثُمَّ صَلَّی ثَمَانِيَ رَکَعَاتٍ قَائِمًا وَرَکْعَتَيْنِ بَيْنَ الْأَذَانَيْنِ وَلَمْ يَکُنْ يَدَعُهُمَا قَالَ جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُسَافِرٍ فِي حَدِيثِهِ وَرَکْعَتَيْنِ جَالِسًا بَيْنَ الْأَذَانَيْنِ زَادَ جَالِسًا
سنن ابودوٗد · Hadith 1361
Narrated Aishah: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ offered the night prayer and then prayed eight rak'ahs standing, and two rak'ahs between the two adhans (i. e. the adhan for the dawn prayer and the iqamah). He never left them. Jaf'ar bin Musafir said in his version: (He prayed) the two rak'ahs sitting between the two adhans. He added the word "sitting".
