أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ وَالْحَارِثُ بْنُ مِسْکِينٍ قِرَائَةً عَلَيْهِ وَأَنَا أَسْمَعُ وَاللَّفْظُ لَهُ عَنْ ابْنِ الْقَاسِمِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي مَالِکٌ عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ الطَّوِيلِ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِکٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَی عَنْ بَيْعِ الثِّمَارِ حَتَّی تُزْهِيَ قِيلَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَمَا تُزْهِيَ قَالَ حَتَّی تَحْمَرَّ وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ مَنَعَ اللَّهُ الثَّمَرَةَ فَبِمَ يَأْخُذُ أَحَدُکُمْ مَالَ أَخِيهِ
سنن نسائی · Hadith 4541
It was narrated from Anas bin Malik that the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم forbade selling fruits before they ripen. It was said: “Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم what does ripen mean?” He said: “When they turn red.” And the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم said: “What do you think if Allah withholds the fruits (causes it not to ripen), why would any one of you take his brother’s wealth?”(SahIh)
