سنن نسائی · Hadith 4443
It was narrated from Abu Saeed Al-Khudri that the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم forbade (eating) the meat of sacrificial animals after three days. Then Qatadah bin An-Numan, who was the brother of Abu Saeed through his mother, and had been present at Badr, came and they offered him (some of the meat). He said: “Didn’t the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم forbid it?” Abu Saeed said: “Something happened later. The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم forbade us to eat it for more than three days, then he allowed us to eat it and store it.” (Sahih).
