أَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ آدَمَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحِيمِ وَهُوَ ابْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ عَنْ زَکَرِيَّا بْنِ أَبِي زَائِدَةَ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَقَ عَنْ شُرَيْحِ بْنِ النُّعْمَانِ عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ أَمَرَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ نَسْتَشْرِفَ الْعَيْنَ وَالْأُذُنَ وَأَنْ لَا نُضَحِّيَ بِمُقَابَلَةٍ وَلَا مُدَابَرَةٍ وَلَا بَتْرَائَ وَلَا خَرْقَائَ
سنن نسائی · Hadith 4387
It was narrated that ‘All, may Allah be pleased with him, said: “The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم commanded us to exAmine the eyes and ears (of animals), and not to sacrifice an animal with its ears slit from the front, an animal with its ears slit from the back, a animal with its tail cut, nor an animal with a round hole in its ear.” (Hasan)
