أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَی ح وَأَنْبَأَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّی عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَی عَنْ وَهْبِ بْنِ مُنَبِّهٍ عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ مَنْ سَکَنَ الْبَادِيَةَ جَفَا وَمَنْ اتَّبَعَ الصَّيْدَ غَفَلَ وَمَنْ اتَّبَعَ السُّلْطَانَ افْتُتِنَ وَاللَّفْظُ لِابْنِ الْمُثَنَّی
سنن نسائی · Hadith 4324
It was narrated from Ibn ‘Abbas that the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم said: “Whoever lives in the desert, he becomes hard-hearted, and whoever follows game becomes preoccupied with it (and neglectful toward other duties), and whoever follows the ruler will put himself through trial.” (Sahih) .The wording is of Ibn Al Muthanna.
