أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَی بْنُ حَبِيبِ بْنِ عَرَبِيٍّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ عَنْ عَطَائِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو أَنَّ رَجُلًا أَتَی النَّبِيَّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ إِنِّي جِئْتُ أُبَايِعُکَ عَلَی الْهِجْرَةِ وَلَقَدْ تَرَکْتُ أَبَوَيَّ يَبْکِيَانِ قَالَ ارْجِعْ إِلَيْهِمَا فَأَضْحِکْهُمَا کَمَا أَبْکَيْتَهُمَا
سنن نسائی · Hadith 4178
It was narrated from ‘Abdullah bin ‘Amr that a man came to the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم and said: “I have come pledging to emigrate (Hijrah), and I have left my parents weeping.” He said: “Go back to them, and make them smile as you made them weep.” (Hasan)
