أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ سَمِعَ جَابِرًا يَقُولُ لَمْ نُبَايِعْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَی الْمَوْتِ إِنَّمَا بَايَعْنَاهُ عَلَی أَنْ لَا نَفِرَّ
سنن نسائی · Hadith 4173
Jabir said: “We did not give our pledge to the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم for death, rather we pledged not to flee (from battle).” (Sahih)
