أَخْبَرَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ أَنْبَأَنَا سَوَادَةُ بْنُ حَنْظَلَةَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ سَمُرَةَ يَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا يَغُرَّنَّکُمْ أَذَانُ بِلَالٍ وَلَا هَذَا الْبَيَاضُ حَتَّی يَنْفَجِرَ الْفَجْرُ هَکَذَا وَهَکَذَا يَعْنِي مُعْتَرِضًا قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُدَ وَبَسَطَ بِيَدَيْهِ يَمِينًا وَشِمَالًا مَادًّا يَدَيْهِ
سنن نسائی · Hadith 2177
It was narrated from ‘Adiyy bin Hatim that he asked the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم about the Verse “Until the white thread (light) of dawn appears to you distinct from the black thread (darkness of night).” He said: “It is the blackness of the night and the whiteness of the day.” (Sahih)
