أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيٌّ هُوَ ابْنُ الْمُبَارَکِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَی عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الشَّهْرُ يَکُونُ تِسْعَةً وَعِشْرِينَ وَيَکُونُ ثَلَاثِينَ فَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمُوهُ فَصُومُوا وَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمُوهُ فَأَفْطِرُوا فَإِنْ غُمَّ عَلَيْکُمْ فَأَکْمِلُوا الْعِدَّةَ
سنن نسائی · Hadith 2144
It was narrated from Muhammad bin Saad that his father said: “The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم said: ‘The month is like this and like this and like this,” meaning , twenty-nine. Yahyah bin Saeed and others narrated it from Isma’il, from Muhammad bin Saad, from : the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم. (Sahih).
