سنن نسائی · Hadith 2121

It was narrated that ibn ‘Abbas said: “A Bedouin came to the Prophet and said: ‘have sighted the crescent tonight.’ He said: ‘Do you bear witness that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Mul is His slave and Messenger?’ He said: ‘Yes.’ He said: ‘Bjlal, announce to the people that they should fast tomorrow.” (Da’if)
