أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ عَنْ يَحْيَی عَنْ وَاقِدٍ عَنْ نَافِعِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ عَنْ مَسْعُودِ بْنِ الْحَکَمِ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ أَنَّهُ ذُکِرَ الْقِيَامُ عَلَی الْجَنَازَةِ حَتَّی تُوضَعَ فَقَالَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ قَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ثُمَّ قَعَدَ
سنن نسائی · Hadith 2005
It was narrated from ‘Ali bin Ab Talib that mention was made of standing at the funeral until the body is placed in the grave. ‘Ali bin Ab Talib said: “The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم stood, then he sat down.” (Sahih).
