أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَوَائٍ أَبُو الْخَطَّابِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَکَّارٍ الْحَکَمُ بْنُ فَرُّوخَ قَالَ صَلَّی بِنَا أَبُو الْمَلِيحِ عَلَی جَنَازَةٍ فَظَنَنَّا أَنَّهُ قَدْ کَبَّرَ فَأَقْبَلَ عَلَيْنَا بِوَجْهِهِ فَقَالَ أَقِيمُوا صُفُوفَکُمْ وَلْتَحْسُنْ شَفَاعَتُکُمْ قَالَ أَبُو الْمَلِيحِ حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ وَهُوَ ابْنُ سَلِيطٍ عَنْ إِحْدَی أُمَّهَاتِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَهِيَ مَيْمُونَةُ زَوْجُ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَتْ أَخْبَرَنِي النَّبِيُّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ مَا مِنْ مَيِّتٍ يُصَلِّي عَلَيْهِ أُمَّةٌ مِنْ النَّاسِ إِلَّا شُفِّعُوا فِيهِ فَسَأَلْتُ أَبَا الْمَلِيحِ عَنْ الْأُمَّةِ فَقَالَ أَرْبَعُونَ
سنن نسائی · Hadith 1999
Abi Bakkar Al-Hakam bin Farookh said: “Abu Al-Malih led us in offering the funeral prayer and we thought that he had said the Takbir, but he turned to us and said: ‘Make your rows straight and intercede properly.’ Abu Al-Malih said: Abdullah — meaning Ibn Salit — urated to me that one of the otbers of the believers, Maimianah e wife of the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم said: The prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم told me: ‘There is no eceased person for whom a group of people offers the funeral prayer, ut their intercession for him will be cepted.’ I asked Abu Al-MalIl , the (number of that) group the said: ‘Forty.” (Hasan)
