أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَقُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا يَحْيَی قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَی عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ عَنْ حَفْصَةَ قَالَتْ کَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَرْکَعُ بَيْنَ النِّدَائِ وَالصَّلَاةِ رَکْعَتَيْنِ خَفِيفَتَيْنِ

It was narrated from Ibn ‘Umar that Hafsah said: “The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم used to pray two brief Rak’ahs between the call (the Adhan) and the prayer.” (Sahih)
