أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ عَنْ سِمَاکٍ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ قَالَ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَخْطُبُ قَائِمًا ثُمَّ يَقْعُدُ قَعْدَةً لَا يَتَکَلَّمُ فِيهَا ثُمَّ قَامَ فَخَطَبَ خُطْبَةً أُخْرَی فَمَنْ خَبَّرَکَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَطَبَ قَاعِدًا فَلَا تُصَدِّقْهُ
سنن نسائی · Hadith 1588
It was narrated that Jabir bin Samurah said: “I saw the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم delivering the Khutbah standing up, then he sat down for a while and did not speak, then he stood up and delivered another Khubah. Whoever tells you that the Prophet delivered a Khutbah sitting do not believe him.” (Sahih).
