حَدَّثَنَا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ عَنْ مَالِکٍ عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ عَنْ الْأَعْرَجِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِذَا صَلَّی أَحَدُکُمْ لِلنَّاسِ فَلْيُخَفِّفْ فَإِنَّ فِيهِمْ الضَّعِيفَ وَالسَّقِيمَ وَالْکَبِيرَ وَإِذَا صَلَّی لِنَفْسِهِ فَلْيُطَوِّلْ مَا شَائَ
سنن ابودوٗد · Hadith 795
Abu Hurairah reported the prophet ﷺ as saying: when one of you leads the people in prayer, he should be brief, for among them are the sick, the aged and the needy.
