حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ الزُّهْرِيَّ مَرَّةً أَوْ مَرَّتَيْنِ فَلَمْ أَحْفَظْهُ عَنْ كَثِيرِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ كَانَ عَبَّاسٌ وَأَبُو سُفْيَانَ مَعَهُ يَعْنِي النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ فَخَطَبَهُمْ وَقَالَ الْآنَ حَمِيَ الْوَطِيسُ وَقَالَ نَادِ يَا أَصْحَابَ سُورَةِ الْبَقَرَةِ
مسند امام احمد بن حنبل · Hadith 1776
It was narrated that Katheer bin 'Abbas said: 'Abbas and Abu Sufyan were with him - meaning the Prophet (PBUH) - when he addressed them and said, "Now the battle is raging." He said: "Call out: O people of Sooratal-Baqarah.”
