أَنْبَأَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا ثَابِتُ بْنُ عُمَارَةَ عَنْ رَبِيعَةَ بْنِ شَيْبَانَ قَالَ قُلْتُ لِلْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ مَا تَعْقِلُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ صَعِدْتُ مَعَهُ غُرْفَةَ الصَّدَقَةِ فَأَخَذْتُ تَمْرَةً فَلُكْتُهَا فِي فِيَّ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَلْقِهَا فَإِنَّهَا لَا تَحِلُّ لَنَا الصَّدَقَةُ
مسند امام احمد بن حنبل · Hadith 1731
Thabit bin 'Umarah narrated that Rabee'ah bin Shaiban said: I said to al-Husain bin 'Ali (RA) ; Do you remember anything from the Messenger of Allah iW He said: I climbed up to a room with him and took a date and put it in my mouth, but the Prophet (PBUH) said: "Take it out, for charity is not permissible for us."
