حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ أَنْبَأَنَا حَمَّادٌ عَنِ الْحَجَّاجِ بْنِ أَرْطَاةَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ أَنَّهُ مَرَّ بِهِمْ جَنَازَةٌ فَقَامَ الْقَوْمُ وَلَمْ يَقُمْ فَقَالَ الْحَسَنُ مَا صَنَعْتُمْ إِنَّمَا قَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ تَأَذِّيًا بِرِيحِ الْيَهُودِيِّ
مسند امام احمد بن حنبل · Hadith 1722
It was narrated from Muhammad bin 'Ali, from al- Hasan bin 'Ali, that a funeral passed by them and the people stood up but he did not stand up. Al-Hasan said: Why did you do that? The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) only stood up because he was offended by the smell of the Jew.
