حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ مُؤَمَّلُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ وَعَفَّانُ الْمَعْنَى قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ حَدَّثَنَا عَاصِمٌ عَنْ مُصْعَبِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أُتِيَ بِقَصْعَةٍ مِنْ ثَرِيدٍ فَأَكَلَ فَفَضَلَ مِنْهُ فَضْلَةٌ فَقَالَ يَدْخُلُ مِنْ هَذَا الْفَجِّ رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ يَأْكُلُ هَذِهِ الْفَضْلَةَ قَالَ سَعْدٌ وَقَدْ كُنْتُ تَرَكْتُ أَخِي عُمَيْرَ بْنَ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ يَتَهَيَّأُ لِأَنْ يَأْتِيَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَطَمِعْتُ أَنْ يَكُونَ هُوَ فَجَاءَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَلَامٍ فَأَكَلَهَا
مسند امام احمد بن حنبل · Hadith 1591
It was narrated from Mus'ab bin Saad, from his father, that a platter of thareed was brought to the Prophet (PBUH) and he ate, and there was some left over. He said: "A man will come from this direction who is one of the people of Paradise, and he will eat these leftovers." Saad said: I had left my brother 'Umair bin Abi Waqqas getting ready to come to the Prophet (PBUH) and I hoped that he would be the one. Then 'Abdullah bin Salam came and ate it.
