حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرٌو يَعْنِي ابْنَ الْحَارِثِ عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ حَدَّثَنِي بَعْضُ مَنْ أَرْضَي أَنَّ سَهْلَ بْنَ سَعْدٍ السَّاعِدِيَّ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ أُبَيَّ بْنَ کَعْبٍ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِنَّمَا جُعِلَ ذَلِکَ رُخْصَةً لِلنَّاسِ فِي أَوَّلِ الْإِسْلَامِ لِقِلَّةِ الثِّيَابِ ثُمَّ أَمَرَ بِالْغُسْلِ وَنَهَی عَنْ ذَلِکَ قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُد يَعْنِي الْمَائَ مِنْ الْمَائِ
سنن ابودوٗد · Hadith 214
Ubayy bin Kaab reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ made a concession in the early days of Islam on account of the paucity of clothes that one should not take a bath if one has sexual intercourse (and has no seminal emission). But later on her commanded to take a bath in such a case and prohibited its omission.
