حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ وَاصِلٍ عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ وَأَحْسَبُهُ رَفَعَهُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ بَيْنَ يَدَيْ السَّاعَةِ أَيَّامُ الْهَرْجِ أَيَّامٌ يَزُولُ فِيهَا الْعِلْمُ وَيَظْهَرُ فِيهَا الْجَهْلُ فَقَالَ أَبُو مُوسَى الْهَرْجُ بِلِسَانِ الْحَبَشِ الْقَتْلُ
مسند امام احمد بن حنبل · Hadith 4183
It was narrated from Abu Wa'il, from 'Abdullah, and I think he attributed it to the Prophet (PBUH) that he said: “Ahead of the Hour there will be days of harj, days in which knowledge will disappear and ignorance will prevail." Abu Moosa said: Hurj in the language of the Abyssinians means killing.
