حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ عَنِ الْحُرِّ بْنِ الصَّيَّاحِ سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ يَقُولُ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَصُومُ ثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ الْخَمِيسَ مِنْ أَوَّلِ الشَّهْرِ وَالِاثْنَيْنِ الَّذِي يَلِيهِ وَالِاثْنَيْنِ الَّذِي يَلِيهِ

It was narrated from al-Hurr ibn as-Sayyaah: I heard Ibn 'Umar say: The Prophet (PBUH) used to fast three days each month: the first Thursday of the month, the Monday after that, and the Monday after that.
