قَالَ وَأَخْبَرَنِي أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ اسْتَقْبَلَ فُرْضَتَيْ الْجَبَلِ الطَّوِيلِ الَّذِي قِبَلَ الْكَعْبَةِ فَجَعَلَ الْمَسْجِدَ الَّذِي بُنِيَ يَمِينًا وَالْمَسْجِدُ بِطَرَفِ الْأَكَمَةِ وَمُصَلَّى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَسْفَلُ مِنْهُ عَلَى الْأَكَمَةِ السَّوْدَاءِ يَدَعُ مِنْ الْأَكَمَةِ عَشْرَ أَذْرُعٍ أَوْ نَحْوَهَا ثُمَّ يُصَلِّي مُسْتَقْبِلَ الْفُرْضَتَيْنِ مِنْ الْجَبَلِ الطَّوِيلِ الَّذِي بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ الْكَعْبَةِ

مسند امام احمد بن حنبل · Hadith 5601

It was narrated from Naafi' that 'Abdullah ibn Umar told him that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) turned bo face two mountain passes in the high mountain that was in the direction of the Ka'bah, putting the mosque that has been built there on his right. The mosque is on the edge of the hill and the place where the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) prayed was lower than that, on the black hill, ten cubits car so from the first hill. Then lie would pray facing the two mountain passes in the high mountain, which was between him and the Ka'bah.
