مسند امام احمد بن حنبل · Hadith 5587
It was narrated that Sa'eed ibn Jubayr said: I went out with Ibn 'Umar from his house and we passed by some young men of Quraysh who had taken a bird as a target and were shooting at it, and they had agreed to give every arrow that missed to the owner of the bird. When they saw Ibn 'Umar, they scattered. Ibn 'Umar said: Who did this? May Allah Curse the one who did this! The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) cursed the one who takes any living being as a target (for target practice).
